Delete your account
This page explains how to delete your Go Echoo account, what happens the moment you confirm, what we remove and what the law requires us to keep, and how to get your account back within 7 days.
How to delete your account
If you can sign in
Open your Account → Profile page, scroll to the Danger Zone and choose “Delete account”. We email a 6-digit code to your account address; enter it there to confirm. This is the fastest route and it takes effect straight away.
If you cannot sign in
Send an email to support@goechoo.com from the address your account uses, with “Delete my account” in the subject line. No other detail is needed — the request is identified by the address it comes from. We reply to confirm and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What happens the moment you confirm
- Your account is deactivated at once and you are signed out everywhere.
- Any active subscription is cancelled with the payment provider, so there are no further charges.
- A 7-day grace period begins — nothing is permanently removed until it ends.
What is removed
- Your profile — your name, email address and phone number.
- Your sign-in identity, whether Google or email and password.
- Your usage data — the per-day counts of dictations and audio minutes tied to your account.
- Your subscription record and its link to the payment provider.
- Anything you synced — your dictation history, your notes and your custom dictionary — if you had cloud sync switched on.
What is kept, and why
If you have past invoices or payments, tax and accounting law requires those records to be kept. In that case your account is anonymized — every piece of personal data is scrubbed and only the invoice rows remain — instead of being fully deleted. If there are no such records, the account is deleted outright. Either way this happens 7 days after your request, and nothing beyond the legally required invoices is kept.
Your transcripts and audio
Audio is never stored at all — each recording is deleted the moment it is transcribed, so there is nothing on our side to delete. Your transcripts live on your own device; if you had cloud sync switched on, the copy on our servers goes with the account, and the copy on your device stays where it is. Remove that one yourself from the app’s history, or set retention to “don’t save”; uninstalling the app removes it with it.
How to get your account back
You have the full 7 days to change your mind.
- Within 7 days: sign in again with Google or your password and your account is restored automatically. The deletion is cancelled and nothing is lost — no support request needed.
- One exception: a cancelled subscription is not brought back. If you were on a paid plan, subscribe again to resume it.
- After 7 days: the deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. To use Go Echoo again you would create a new account — and because the free trial is granted once per email address, signing up again with the same address starts on a paid plan rather than a trial.
