Privacy, stated plainly

When you dictate, the recording goes to our server, Groq’s Whisper transcribes it, and the text comes back. That is the entire trip. Any dictation tool that transcribes this fast is doing the same thing; most are less direct about it.

What stays on your device: your history, your notes, your dictionary. They live in a local database, and nothing uploads them unless you switch on cloud sync, which is off until you do. Switch it on and we keep a copy so a reinstall does not lose it — dictations and notes encrypted at rest, dictionary entries in plain text because the server has to recognise a duplicate term. Encrypted at rest is not end-to-end: we hold the key and could read it, we do not, and the privacy policy says so in full.

What the app does not do: no analytics, no crash reporting, no usage tracking, no screenshots. Not as a setting you can turn off, but as code that was never written. Sign-in reads your email and name and nothing else. This website is separate: it runs analytics only if you agree to it, and nothing loads if you do not.
